THE RIDING CENTRE:
A Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative

The Riding Centre is an exciting new venture supported by both the Tote Board and the STC aimed at developing the horse riding community and industry in Singapore. Built right next to the Singapore Racecourse at Kranji, the Riding Centre will provide a range of programmes to introduce the fun of horse riding to everyone in Singapore, beginning with youths and schoolchildren, with the ultimate goal of grooming successive generations of riders who can represent Singapore in regional and international competitions.

The Centre reached out to over 1500 riders sinces its inception in November 2009. It further educated another 2000 non-riders about horses and horse care. The numbers grow by the day.

The Centre is very dedicated in sharing the joys of horses and horse-riding to everyone and in providing opportunities to those who do not have a chance to own their own horses to compete with. That said, it started its youth squad in 2011 with four young riders who proceeded to win competitions in Singapore as well as Malaysia on borrowed horses. Early 2013, the Centre proceeded to start a dressage squad. Again, this was in the same vein of providing competition exposure and opportunities to those who are keen and wish to commit to the sport.
