Ultraman Gaia

Ultraman Gaia

Being by the late prominent international sire Red Ransom, Ultraman Gaia fetched a fairly hefty price tag when sold for A$275,000 as a two-year-old. But unfortunately he failed to recoup that investment as a racehorse for his former owners, the Emma Stable, at Kranji. Lightly-raced (he ran only nine times from December 2008 to April 2010), Ultraman Gaia, who was prepared by trainer Patrick Shaw, was however able to notch one win at his fourth start in an Initiation race over 1700m, with jockey Robbie Fradd in the saddle. He was gradually stepped up in distance at his subsequent runs, but he never flattered again and a decision was made to retire him after his last race in April 2010.
