COURSE DETAILS
Stable management is not just about walking horses about and washing them off with cold water and putting back to their stalls. There are certain aspects which are important yet unknown to many who do it on a voluntary and/ or irregular basis.

For example, many are unaware of the standard to which horses should be groomed, the way their feet are supposed to be taken care of, and how they are supposed to be presented on a daily basis. The whole basis of stable management (or horse management) is also to ensure the well being of the horse, which means one must know what to look out for when grooming and/or managing the horses' living environment.

TOPICS TO BE COVERED
.i Mucking out - Importance of mucking out and keeping a clean envrionement for the horse. The use of difference bedding for individual horses
.ii General grooming/ hoof picking - Why is grooming essential and the standard to which a horse should be groomed. What to look out for when grooming a horse.
.iii Mane pulling/ trimming of tail/ legs - Proper way of doing it
.iv Plaiting - Proper way of plaiting mane and tail for competitions

Limited spaces are available so hurry and sign up now at our Reception! Closing date will be 25 October 2012, Thursday.

Best regards,
STCRC TEAM
